FEDERAL JOB SEARCH
Federal Jobs Are Located All Across America & Beyond –
In Fact, the Federal Government Is Our Nation’s Largest Employer and the Federal Government is hiring!
The statistics are mind-boggling. According to the Wall Street Journal, roughly half of all government workers are eligible to retire within the coming three years, and about one-fifth are predicted to do so. Currently more Federal employees are in their 60s than in their 20s! And agencies essential for the War on Terrorism are among those facing possible large retirement hits (30% of workers at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and 36% of those at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, could retire by 2006). For more information, see the 09/19/02 WSJ article, “Retirement Bubble Causes Void in Federal Work Force.”
More and more people are turning to the Federal government as a potential employer. However these jobseekers can waste precious time when they’re uninformed about the correct approach to use. Many jobhunters are bewildered by the Federal hiring process, and they need a formalized training program.
The Bridge offers both individual and group Federal job search instruction, application review and editing. Leigh Moore of The Bridge was selected to participate in Kathryn Kraemer Troutman’s, author and Federal Job Search Expert, first Ten Steps to a Federal Job, certification training.
